Black Magic

My time in LA has been a whirlwind tour of skate spots and industry interviews.  A big shout out to all the folks who have supported me during the first leg of my research including the film department at Falmouth University who lent me this incredible lightweight Black Magic camera. Thanks to those who have all ready promised future interviews over Skype and email.  I finally feel like my project of four years is becoming a reality.  One last shout out to Mike who reminded me that skateboarding started out as gritty creative process as will my films!  Can not wait to start editing…

The Dysfunctional Cool Factor

“As people start to go faster go bigger you need to start changing the shape of the board in order to do that.   These subtle changes have been dictated by the style of tricks that the pros are doing and how skateboarding has changed with those tricks.”  Eric Sentianin

One Leg No Arms

“Skateboarding is a cultural innovation. Everybody is accepted. You can be skinny, fat, you can have one leg, you could have no arms and no one really gives a crap. I know that to be a fact.  I have travelled all over the world, tens of countries and thousands of demos in small towns, big towns and I can tell you there is nothing like it.” Geoff Rowley
